Founder, Janice E. McKinnie brings over 25 years of project and construction management and development as owner of DBJEM. She is a graduate of Buffalo State College and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Communication and a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership from Medaille College. She is a licensed Real Estate Salesperson, with Barnes Real Estate Group. Mrs. McKinnie oversees all functions of the business including operations, customer service, and strategic planning.

Prior to starting Developments by JEM, Mrs. McKinnie served as Administrator for True Bethel Baptist Church (TBBC) for 15 years and founded True Community Development Corporation the development arm for TBBC overseeing and implementing their business operations, renovations and community revitalization vision.
